I am here to guide you through this journey to reconnect with your true self.
Hi, I'm Emily Cody, a master's-level clinician with a degree in Marriage and Family Therapy.
I believe that each person who finds themself in my office is already enough, exactly as they are. The outside world can strip that feeling away from us over time, and I aim to help clients through their own journeys of finding themselves again. This approach to life and relationships creates a pivotal energy in allowing grace and healing for our own selves, and also the ability to extend that to others.
I found myself in this career path after spending time in other environments that did not encourage the same type of soulful discovery. A goal of mine is to assist my clients in paving a new path for themselves, in the same way that I was able to.
As we work together, we will examine how past experiences have created patterns of thought, emotions, and belief systems. By unpacking damaging thoughts and patterns that one may be holding on to, we can work together to create a different way of being. Ultimately, I define my role as someone who does not tell my clients what to see, but help them to discover where to look. I utilize my warm therapeutic approach to establish an alliance full of empathy and free of judgment. It would be my honor to help you on this journey.
I specialize in working with adults who are navigating through issues such as anxiety, depression, relationship issues, life transitions, and building self-esteem.

My approach to therapy includes a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solutions-Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and mindfulness skills. We all have a unique story to tell, and one that is worth hearing ā I focus on taking an open approach with each client to understand their specific needs in treatment.
I have experience working with clients who are navigating anxiety, depression, relationship issues, life transitions, and building self-esteem.
Much of the work that I do centers around identifying, deconstructing, and then rebuilding narratives that one has about themselves and the world around them.
I also am trained to work with more than one person in the room ā individual clients are encouraged to bring a partner, friend, or family member into the space if you are looking to build on communication and understanding with those close to you.
I have specialized training in family systems dynamics and sex therapy, which are pivotal in the work that I do with couples.
Living life with another person is not meant to be easy ā as individuals, we may naturally show up differently than others in any given situation. Committing to a deeper understanding of how these dynamics are at play in your own relationships is the key to learning to live better, together.
My approach to couple and relationship therapy is to work toward building healthy communication patterns. This includes guiding clients toward vocalizing their needs to one another, becoming attuned to each other's desires in the relationship, deconstructing negative interaction cycles, and being intentional about establishing new, healthy ways of being, together as a unit.
